About
Hilary Parker, Principal, Storied Creative Services

I've always loved learning how things work and explaining it to others. That's part of what makes my job working with business owners so much fun. It's also why I continue to teach the craft of editing to students in the journalism department at Western Washington University.
My own journey started at Western as an undergrad majoring in journalism. After graduation, I worked for a family of small weekly newspapers, then went to work at the historic Washington Athletic Club in Seattle. At the WAC, I combined my work as an editor for the club’s member magazine with helping promote club events and services to members as part of the marketing department.
Next I moved on to work for Northwest Business Monthly, a magazine focusing on businesses in the northwestern region of Washington state. It's here that I learned how to speak in a language that business owners and managers understand, and then translate that to the general public.
I returned to marketing just as inbound content marketing was on the rise. I found this form of business communication was a perfect match for my skills as a writer and editor. My work had me crafting web copy with an eye toward SEO as well as employing tactics for successfully repurposing content across platforms.
I've had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of businesses, from fitness professionals to construction companies, restauranteurs to attorneys. Putting all these experiences together, I have developed an innate understanding of how to relate your business to your audience’s needs.
Let’s work together to get them engaged with your business.
